Brazilian Nights and Orinoco are for 4 mallet marimba solo. Whilst being a fun composition to add to your repertoire, Two Rhythmic Dances also concentrates on developing a more advanced technique as a four mallet player. Brazilian Nights concentrates on hand Independence over a larger breadth of the marimba, and also one handed rolls, while Orinoco concentrates on mallet Independence. Two Rhythmic Dances has been written for 5 octave marimba, but with minor changes it would fit on 4 1/3 octave.
