Composer: Mancini, David
Number of Players: 4When the Syracuse Symphony Percussion Quartet asked Dave to write a piece for them, they wanted something challenging that would display their versatility and musicality. At the same time, the piece needed to be rhythmically and melodically appealing to a wide variety of listeners. This piece fills the bill on all counts. The duration is 9 minutes, and a colorful assortment of common instruments are employed-- vibes, timbales, suspended cymbals, marimba, chimes, orchestra bells, bongos, snare and bass drums, concert toms, triangle, tam tam, timpani, temple blocks, and chime tree.
